Day 15 Covid-19

We are actually doing okay. The boys are staying busy and I have been able to get all of our groceries and prescriptions delivered. We are a little bored and I have been baking more than usual, but we can't complain. We are all healthy and safe at home. Our teachers have been amazing keeping the kids connected with activities and an online Zoom get together. Here is Caleb, yesterday "hanging out" with his teachers and friends.

And here is where Michigan stands as of today.
Our numbers are multiplying like wild fire.
Dear Jesus, please help us overcome this virus soon!

Coronavirus

The Covid-19 is an unprecedented moment in history. It's a little scary. No, it's a lot scary. The schools are closed all over the nation. The Big 3 Automakers have all shut down. The libraries, and restaurants and bars and most churches are closed as well. Our routine appts. have all been cancelled. Everything is on standby. Every day, more people are getting the virus and more people are dying. There is no vaccine for this virus yet. It attacks the lungs. Our elderly and our population that have underlying medical issues are most at risk. What looked as though children were less effected has now changed. Italy and France have reported that there are children getting it, and it is serious. We wake up to more bad news every day. The news stations are covering it non-stop. We can no longer go grocery shopping without some risk. So, because of my children, I am ordering everything online and doing grocery pick up, only. I have started doing their school work at home with them. They say it will get worse before it gets better. We know what's coming because we have seen both China and Italy before us, suffer great loss. Our country does not have the medical supplies and ventilators to take care of so many sick people at once, thus places have been shut down, to try and keep people at home, and reduce the risk of contraction. Trying to "flatten the curve" so that everyone does not end up in the hospital at once.  I'm not writing anything down, that anyone out there doesn't know. This is only for my own journal and maybe, for future great grandchildren to read one day. I am not here to educate about this virus, because this is not my area of expertise. But I can write about our experiences to date. This is day 5 of  "lockdown" and day 3 of homeschooling. Elijah and Caleb enjoy me being their teacher, but they'd rather be at school. I'd rather they be at school too, because they are missing out so much (their friends, their teachers, their routine,...) Liam's going stir crazy. He doesn't understand. He misses his routine and swimming every morning. I am letting him play in the shower every day. I may have higher water bill when this is all said and done, but it will be worth it. The schools have closed until April 6th which will be 3 weeks total. But, other states are beginning to close for the rest of the school year, and I'm pretty confident that Michigan will, as well. I am looking forward to the warmer weather so we can go outside, and walk the dogs and ride bikes..... That will be awesome!
