Happy Halloween

Puppy Love!

We had a great night for Halloween. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, a little cool, no wind and just the right amount of overcast to give it a spooky feel.:) And because we did not change our clocks back, the first half hour or so was daylight so that was nice too. Caleb did well walking most of the way, (last year he rode in the wagon) and Elijah did a great job going up to everyone's house and saying "Tee!".:) Jimmy always gets a kick out of seeing everyone's costumes and decorations. Enjoy the pictures!

Our pumpkins

Tonight we carved our pumpkins. I tried and tried to get Caleb and Elijah to scoop out the insides of their pumpkins, but they would have nothing to do with that goop. So Mommy did it and I really HATE to do it because it's so gross.:( So after three pumpkins, Jimmy finally agreed to do one of his.:) He had two, because he got one with us and then got another one with his class. After all the carving and clean up was done, I realized that the top to Jimmy's little pumpkin was missing. So what did I have to do? Dig through the bag of goop for it.:( And after couple minutes, without any top in sight, I gladly gave up. So Jimmy and I brainstormed what we could do with the topless pumkpin. We decided it needed a hat. Then we thought they would all look cool with hats!:) So here they are:) Come back tomorrow for Halloween pictures.:)

My Guys

Jimmy made me this special box at Friendship Ministries. I just love the way he looks at me, smiles and says,"I made it for you." :)

(Look inside) He has the whole world in his hands

Ben on Caleb's birthday

And my two little Russian stinkers. I don't know what they would do without the other. They are best buddies!

Our weekend

We started off the weekend going to the orchard to get pumpkins and ride the ponies. They had a really large hay stack with tunnels for the kids to climb through. Caleb and some of the other kids had fun jumping off the top to the hay below. Elijah wanted nothing to do with the hay.

Jimmy was content just sitting at the top, watching the kids all around him.

When we got there, we ran into Caleb's best friend Makenna and her family.:)

Makenna absolutely adores Caleb, so much in fact that her Mom requested they be in the same class again this year.:) And the feeling is mutual, Caleb loves Makenna.

Caleb was very excited to ride the donkey. Isn't he cute? Jimmy also rode the donkey.:) But I didn't get his picture, because I had already put the camera back in the truck before he decided to ride. (He kept saying that he didn't want to ride, so I put the camera in the truck when we put the pumpkins in.) Oh well, next time! Once he finished riding, Jimmy told me that he wanted the donkey for his birthday!

After the orchard, we went to Dairy Queen. Here, Jimmy is eating his hot fudge sundae with chocolate ice cream and sprinkles.:)

Jimmy took this picture of me.

Today, we had beautiful weather so we raked the leaves in the backyard. Elijah was a big help!

Caleb liked playing in the leaves the best.:)

Elijah was not so sure he liked sitting in them, but he did just long enough for a picture. I think he enjoyed raking them more!

Happy 8th Birthday Caleb

Caleb gets so excited when it's his birthday. He could hardly contain his excitement while we were singing Happy Birthday to him. He let out a couple of belly laughs in the middle of the song.:) I can't believe he is eight years old already. It seems like yesterday that I was bringing this little smiley toddler home. Praise God for my Caleb. I love him more and more each day!

Elijah, my picky eater, is picky no more. He devoured his cake and ice cream. Yum!

He couldn't quite figure out how to get this thing to work.

Caleb is wearing a shirt that I got him for his birthday. I just love it!:)

Caleb holding the one present that he wanted the most. When he saw his presents today, he right away wanted to find his bus. I ordered it online and was so relieved when it arrived in the mail just in the nick of time.:)
Happy Birthday my sweet boy!

Better.......almost

Last week when Caleb wasn't feeling well, he fell asleep on the couch. I couldn't resist taking his picture. He just looked so precious sleeping there. Man, I love this kid so much!!

Caleb is feeling better but his antibiotic is causing some diarrhea. And you know what I mentioned before about how Caleb will obsess about things and talk about them and occasionally act them out? Well, this weekend Caleb informed me that Grover has "Di-A-Wea"!

Caleb's rough week

Caleb has been sick quite a bit since school started. This week was his third time throwing up in the last two weeks. It began on Tuesday night. He was running a fever and throwing up. On Thursday, I took him to the dr. and he was diagnosed with a sinus infection and put on an antibiotic. Then on Friday morning, he came up to me and his cheek looked like he had a Tootsie Pop in his mouth. It was very swollen and he was crying. I took a peek inside and saw a horrible looking nickel size spot. I took him to the dr. again and he said that Caleb had an abscess. He asked if he had been to the dentist recently and I told him that yes, he had gone in June and his teeth were all fine. So we're not quite sure why he got it, but it hurts to see him in pain like this. I have been giving his antibiotic (which the dr. said would clear up the abscess) and also his Motrin. Bless his heart, he is sleeping now. He missed three days of school last week and I'm hoping he feels well enough to go back to school on Monday because he loves school so much. But we will wait and see. It does look like it is changing, so I am hopeful it is getting better. Honestly, I have never saw one before. Caleb does obsess about things and he if he has thrown up, he usually talks about it over and over. So it didn't surprise me when I looked over and saw this the other day (top photo). I asked him, "What's Grover doing?" And Caleb said, "He's puking!" Poor Grover. The photo below shows Caleb's swollen cheek. You can see where his cheek is swollen on the lower left side of his face. This is one of the very few photos where Caleb isn't smiling.:(
