3 years ago today...

was the very first time I laid eyes on my beautiful son, Caleb. Halfway around the world in a little remote town, I first saw my baby. Although he was already over 2 years old, he was going to be the baby of the family. His smile lit up the room and he had the cutest little laugh. He was very energetic and very eager to play. Now as I look back on this time, I am overcome with emotion at how this child came to be mine. A miracle of God.... God knew that Caleb would be my son. It was HIS plan all along. I am honored that I was chosen to be Caleb's mommy. Caleb has brought so much joy to our family. He is a BLESSING from God. I love you Caleb!

It's Outta Here!

Here is Caleb a couple years ago. He is sitting next to my tree, well what was the last and final branch. Since the day I brought him home, he was determined to get rid of that tree! I had that tree ever since Jimmy was a year old.:) The very first branch Caleb pulled off, he politely carried into the kitchen and gave to me. And here he is a few months later, after the last branch came down!

Jessie

This is Jessie. She is one of Jimmy's best friends. They have gone to school together since early elementary. Jimmy just adores her! Jessie has been a very good friend to him. She has been there with Jimmy at the Special Olympics, field trips, dances, proms, various activities, and on the weekends. Now, that Jessie is in college, she doesn't get to spend time with Jimmy as often. But when she comes home, she always makes time to call Jimmy and pick him up to go to the movies, out to eat, over to her house to hang out, go swimming.... Jessie is studying to be a Special Education teacher. She recently had a project where she had to create a children's book. She called me and said that she was making it for Caleb. When she gave it to him, I opened it up and saw that she had dedicated the book to Jimmy, her inspiration. How that touched my heart! I think Jessie will make an awesome Special Education teacher not only for her dedication and hard work, but because she has compassion for individuals with special needs. She has definitely been a shining star in Jimmy's life.

Enough already!!!

We had another "snow day" this week. That makes seven! Don't get me wrong, I love snow in the winter! It is very pretty and bright and a lot of fun to play in.......but enough is enough! We have had 76.9 inches so far. This winter has been our second snowiest winter on record. At least Caleb and Mikey are having fun:)

Paint! Paint!

Here is Caleb painting. He absolutely loves it! They say it is his favorite activity at school too! Whenever he wants to paint, he will come up to me excitedly and say "Paint, Paint!" He likes to fingerpaint also, however he doesn't like the fingerpaint. He would rather paint his hand with the regular paint and then put his hand on the paper. :)
