Carving pumpkins

These two crack me up. They had to wear gloves before they would put their hands into the pumpkins. LOL I have to give them credit though, at least they did. Jimmy avoided the situation by refusing to come out of his room until it was done. Oh yes, he did! :) And Liam kept his distance too.

They did a good job and even put the seeds into the bowl. :) Trust me, I loved the help, even for a few minutes. I still had to finish cleaning out their pumpkins and both Jimmy's and Liam's, and also carve all four. Let's just say I'm glad that it's done, and I didn't require a trip to the ER. I swear one day, I am going to slice my hand. Yes, I'm that clumsy!

The finished product. Caleb's is on the left. He requested a happy pumpkin. :) Next, is Liam's. I gave it a tongue sticking out, to mirror Liam's favorite expression. Then the little one is Elijah's, whose only request was, that it had to have two eyes, one nose, and one mouth with one tooth. LOL Then there is Jimmy's on the right. He wanted me to make it look like Trigger, our Yorkie. Sorry Jimmy, I would have messed that up big time and probably ended up with a shredded pumpkin. His second choice was a pumpkin with a big smile. I can do that. :)

Happy Halloween!

Autumn here...

I love Autumn! And Autumn in Michigan is absolutely beautiful. These pics were taken in our yard. I wish the trees would stay this color all year. So pretty!

First MS dance :)

Well, it happened. Caleb attended his first middle school dance. I probably would have teared up a little, but it was a Zombie Bash, which seemed a little less like a dance, I guess. I've never done makeup for a Zombie before, so it was an adventure to say the least. But, it was easier than I thought, and Caleb did great about not touching it, the entire night. :) He had fun, and now I can say, that I lived through my "little" boy going to his first dance. LOL

They had a contest for the best costume. Caleb came in 4th!

Caleb is 12

I can't believe that Caleb is 12 already. Wasn't it just yesterday that he was this small?

2 years old

and now, he is a pre-teen. He is talking about driving and getting a credit card already. Yikes!
And just last night he went to his very first middle school dance. Time flies....too fast it seems. But, he'll always be my little Russian prince with the gorgeous light blue eyes. He took my breath away the first moment I saw him, and he continues to make my heart smile. A blessing in so many ways.....Happy Birthday Caleb Anatoly,
love your Mama
He chose McDonalds for his birthday dinner.

He is all about Peppa Pig. I think he liked his cake! :)

Still has that gorgeous smile!

Cracks me up! :)

One.Little.Extra.Chromosome.

One little, extra chromosome rocked my world and changed my course in life. Special Education Teacher and Special Needs International Adoption. These two paths, appeared on the map of my life, shortly after Jimmy was born. I was going to college and was planning to work with preschool children. But, once Jimmy was born, I realized that working with typical children, would not be enough. I got my MA in Special Education. Adoption however, was something that I thought about. But, adopting children with special needs from a foreign country? Because of one little extra chromosome, Caleb, Liam and Elijah, also call me Mama.:)

Orphans, no more.

One.Little.Extra.Chromosome. = LOVE
Enough said.
