Week in pictures

Elijah playing with his spray bottle.

This kid makes the funniest faces:)

My super cute Elijah!

Mikey had a birthday. Hard to believe he's already 9 years old.

Elijah prefers the boat over the water.

Playing in the lake

Caleb LOVES the waterpark!

Liam REALLY LOVES the waterpark!

Poor Elijah...not so much. He's still a little timid about water but he came along and would get in as long as I was holding him or holding his hand.:)

I'm talking BIG Bears!

We saw these HUGE bears at Costco and Liam quickly decided he wanted one.
So, we bought one.

One bear and three boys.......hmmmm, we may have a problem.

What to do? What to do?

Problem solved!

There is one more bear that's another color, but we are going to stick with two for now. :):)

2 years........

ago today, precious Kristen gained her angel wings. She lost her fight to Leukemia. Leukemia seems to favor our sweet children with Down syndrome. The truth is that Leukemia doesn't care who you are, what you have gone through, where you live, how good you have been......it doesn't discriminate. But there is a higher risk for children and adults with Ds to get Leukemia. :(
You can read more about Kristen and her beautiful life here. www.sheisourangel.blogspot.com

Elijah, you bring us so much joy!
We are so blessed to have you in our lives:):)

Happy Birthday Elijah

Six years ago in Novosibirsk, Russia, a beautiful, little brown eyed boy was born. He was perfect in every way. And I'm sure, that Heaven was celebrating this precious child's birth. After all, he had been given something extra, that would teach the world all about what God's love really is.

Not every child gets this extra kiss from God, but this precious little baby boy did.

But for some reason, this baby boy's earthly mother could not parent him. He was not born perfect in the eyes of her country. She was told that he would be a heavy burden to bare. Her life would be difficult and incredibly sad. People would be cruel to her for keeping him. So, because of all that was told to her, she gave her baby boy away. Away, to people that knew how to take care of him. Or at least, that's what they told her.

"Go home and pretend that he died," is what they may have said, "Forget that he was ever born."

So this precious baby boy, was put into an orphanage for special needs children. And his mother went home. She never visited him or even sent him a gift. She abandoned him forever.

Thousands of miles away, in another country, lived a mother who had much love to share, with even more children than she already had. She longed for a little boy, perfect in every way. She had been blessed to have children already, blessed with that extra kiss from God, so she knew how rewarding life would be.

Well, a couple years later, God placed this same precious, perfect baby boy, in her loving arms, and made him her son.

And today, we celebrate, this little boy's birth. This perfect little boy, blessed with the extra kiss from God.

Happy 6th Birthday to my precious, perfect, beautiful little boy.

Elijah Nikolai Lucas, you are loved, cherished and celebrated.

And I am praising God, that I get to call you my son. And I am so proud that you call me, Mama.

You are the true meaning of "God's Love."

Summer Playgroup

Liam and Elijah will be attending a summer playgroup starting today. I'm sure they will have fun. This will be the first time that I will be by myself for about 2 hours this summer. (Jimmy and Ben are in Florida, and Caleb is at Hornet camp). I have errands to run so I will be busy. If I was smart, I would come home and take a nap. LOL!
Here are my silly boys this morning:)

Summer activities

Caleb started Hornet Camp today and boy, was he excited! Hornet camp is a day program for children with special needs. It runs from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Monday thru Thursday. They go on field trips to all kinds of fun places, go out to eat once a week, practice lifeskills, do crafts and also swim every morning. Caleb loves it! This will be his third year.:) He is also participating in the PEAC (Program to Educate All Cyclists) which is a program that teaches individuals with disabilities  biking skills. Jimmy partcipated in PEAC for several years also. Elijah is actually supposed to be participating too, but he is reluctant to put the helmet on his head. And without the helmet, he can't ride a bike in PEAC. :(  So we're working on that.

Next week, Liam and Elijah will be attending a two week Social Playgroup. This program is designed to provide opportunities for children to learn and explore through play based activities. They will be going on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.

Elijah also just finished Safety Town. It is a two week program that teaches upcoming kindergartners the important rules to stay safe at school and in the community.

TOO CUTE!

Here's Elijah, after he lathered his face full of Neosporin and then put his bandaid on all by himself!

(He didn't need a bandaid. I think he just wanted to show off his amazing doctor skills. :)

Happy 4th of July

We went to see the fireworks last night and had a wonderful time! The exciting part was having Liam with us, celebrating his first 4th of July.

My sweet Caleb could hardly wait for the fireworks to begin.

Elijah has a sinus infection, so he wasn't feeling himself.
It's such a blessing to have Liam home!
Happy 4th of July from my littlest American citizens.
Jimmy and Ben are in Florida this month, so no pics of my handsome older sons.:(
