Jimmy aka Garth

Everyone knows how much Jimmy loves Garth Brooks. For the last two years, he has performed Garth's songs at his school's Talent Shows. This coming one in the spring, will also be a Garth song. :) I'm pretty excited about this one! So this year, Jimmy decided he wanted to be Garth for Halloween. He also has a Halloween dance coing up this week, where he will dress as Garth. Here are a few pics of Jimmy sporting two of his very special Garth shirts and mic.

Caleb is "Eleben"

Caleb is eleven now. If you ask him how olds he is, he says "Eleben!" I love it!
Although, he was sick on his birthday, we were able to have a good time celebrating. I just can't believe how much he's grown. I can't believe he's 11 already! Here's a picture of him when I met him for the first time in Russia. I couldn't get over how beautiful he was.

Caleb is so much fun. He is silly and smart. He is sensitive and fearless. My world is a better place because Caleb is my son.

Caleb chose an ice cream cake this year.

These two are so funny together. :)

How old are you Caleb?
"ELEBEN!"

Happy 11th Birthday Caleb Anatoly!
I am sooooo blessed to call you my son.
I love you Fudgie!

Flu

Well, the day that Elijah finally made it back to school, Caleb was sick and stayed home. He had been running a fever since Saturday night, which is odd for him. He seemed a little better on Tuesday, and he wanted to go to school so bad. I went against my better judgment and let him go. He made it until 9am. :( He ended up missing the rest of the week with bouts of the chills, puking, coughing, and just plain feeling yucky. Tomorrow is his birthday (Monday). He's been sick over a week. I thought he would make it to school tomorrow, but today he was coughing a lot and then didn't eat much dinner. So, I will keep him home with me again. Liam is staying home too since he had an Orthotics appointment. I say "had" because I cancelled it today, after deciding that Caleb would need to stay home. Liam's aide has already planned on taking tomorrow off, since he knew Liam wasn't coming in. No big deal, I love hanging out with my squishy boy. With Caleb and Elijah sick the last few weeks, I haven't had as much time with Liam. So, I am praying that Caleb feels good tomorrow, because after all, it's his 11th birthday. When you ask Caleb how old he is going to be, he smiles and says, "Eleben".
Caleb's 1st time using the nebulizer. He was not impressed!

My sick, but still, my silly Ca-wub wub. :)

Pneumonia

Elijah got pneumonia this past week and what a scare that was. He started off running a fever on Friday, September 20. The doctor said it probably was pneumonia so he put him on an antibiotic (Amoxicillin).

After being on it for three days and continuing to have a fever and a horrible cough, Elijah got worse and by 6pm the following Friday, we ended up in the ER, with Caleb and Liam in tow. After being there for 3 hours in which blood work and a chest x-ray were both done, it was decided that Elijah needed to be admitted. They couldn't admit him to the hospital we were at because of health ins. reasons, so he needed to be transported to Motts Children's Hospital. They wanted to transfer him by ambulance so they could give him oxygen on the way, but could not transport him without a parent. I couldn't go because I had to drop off Caleb and Liam at home with a friend of mine who agreed to watch the boys overnight for me. The hospital staff decided to let me take Elijah myself, so we quickly went home, dropped off the boys, gathered a few things and took off to the hospital.

We ended up staying overnight in the ER at Motts, because they didn't have any available rooms on the pediatric floor. On Saturday morning, I needed to leave the hospital to go home and get Caleb and Liam and bring them back up with me. The hospital got a staff member to stay with Elijah just in case he woke up while I was gone.

While I was home, I asked Carrie if she could stay over on Saturday night also, since Elijah was going to be there another night. She said that she would, thank God! So, she took Jimmy with her to do a few things and I headed to the hospital with Caleb and Liam. Elijah was asleep when we got there. Phew!

About 1pm, we were finally moved to a room. Elijah was receiving an antibiotic through an IV, but because he was so freaked out, they took out the port. I thought that would be better anyway. He would just have to receive his antibiotic by shot, but only once a day. With the IPAD, the computer and the flat screen TV, the boys stayed pretty entertained. All of the children's suites are private so the boys could play without disturbing anyone. :) We had a very pretty view from the 11th floor also.

At 8pm, I took Caleb and Liam home and then came back to the hospital to stay with Elijah. I had a bed by the window. I was exhausted. We both slept well, thank goodness. Elijah even slept through the nurses coming in and out, checking his oxygen levels..... In the morning, I was told that Elijah would be discharged that day at the earliest. So I went home and packed up the boys, Jimmy included with toys, snacks......to spend the entire day at the hospital.

Once we came back, we all settled in watching Nick Jr., playing on the Ipad and checking out the menu to see what we wanted for dinner. Team Umizoomi  came on and Caleb and Elijah started dancing. Pretty cute to watch these two. Caleb was so happy to be with Elijah at the hospital.:) The next thing we knew, the doctor came in and said they were going to discharge Elijah. His O2 levels were fine and he was fever free, so they felt that he could go home. Thank you Jesus!

It's been two weeks since Elijah first started running a fever. He is just today, starting to eat more and getting his energy back. Elijah went back to school yesterday but didn't have the stamina to make it through the day. :( So, he stayed home with Mama today and we'll try again on Monday. Here are some pics from our hospital adventure! And thank you to everyone for praying for Elijah!!

The day before we went to the ER.

Liam at St. Joes

Elijah at St. Joes. :(

Caleb and Elijah at the ER on Saturday morning.

Elijah being sly and putting the oxygen on top of his head.

Our view from Elijah's hospital room. Jimmy told me that there were a lot of Smurfs down there and also that he could see Harry Potter's house. LOL

Saturday's dinner at the hospital. Elijah only ate a couple of tater tots.

Caleb is watching a video. Just happened to catch his tongue out. Liam was happy watching Nick Jr. on the TV.

When I returned with the other boys, Elijah was happily painting with one of the staff. They treated him so well. :)

My boys are so good. They go with the flow. Jimmy settled into the purple recliner nicely, and checked out the dinner menu. Fortunately, we didn't have to eat at the hospital, but Jimmy was happy to get KFC on the way home. :)
