Happy 4th Gotcha Day Elijah

I can't believe it has been 4 years. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I traveled on both trips alone to bring home this precious bundle. I spent most of my time alone talking with God mostly about court. I was worried. Some things had transpired in the US during the year I was adopting and I was afraid it may jeopardize Elijah's adoption. I was prepared to do whatever I could to bring him home. I had to prepare a 10 minute speech that basically covered as much about me and my family, what we could provide for Elijah, and what his life would be like. I walked into the court and instantly felt the presence of God. The proceedings went smoothly and after about an hour, I was granted Elijah's adoption and had the 10 days waived! God is good! The next day, my facilitator and I drove to the orphanage to bring Elijah out of the orphanage for good. He had a mama, a family, and a future. Happy Gotcha Day Elijah! I am so blessed to have you for my son! Thank you Jesus!
Just getting back to the hotel after leaving the orphanage.

Embassy day! Last thing to do before flying home. :)

Elijah coloring eggs for Easter this year. I love you sweet boy!

Happy Birthday Ben

Ben turned 22 on Tuesday. We celebrated on Sunday because he was flying out on Monday. Ben has joined the Air Force and will begin Basic Training on April 2nd. We miss him very much but we are also very proud of him. :)
Instead of 22 candles, we did 2 groups of 2.

I love Liam's expression in this one.

Caleb loves Ben and misses him. Ben is the one that nicknamed Caleb, "Fudge".

Jimmy and Ben, my two homegrown sons.

Elijah loves his cake and ice cream!

The Many Faces of Liam

Isn't he just the cutest?! I love his smile :)

Being very silly! Blowing strawberries is something Liam does quite often.

I love it when he sticks his tongue out.

This one absolutely cracks me up!

Elijah, my Artist

Of all my children, Elijah loves to draw and write the most. You name it, markers, paint, colored pencils, magnadoodle......this kid draws and writes all the time (when he's not doing puzzles). I love all of his creations so I wanted to share my little artist with you.

He really needs his own little studio. For now, he uses our kitchen table. It's always covered with art supplies and puzzles that he has put together that day. :)

I'm so proud of him and I'm just so fascinated by his love for Art.

 I love, love, love it!

I have a Puzzler

Elijah LOVES puzzles! He can do a 28 piece puzzle independently.

This one is so cool. We love "No! David!" Elijah did this one all by himself. :)

I even found a puzzle app for the IPAD that Elijah really enjoys.

He's so proud of himself and Mama is too! Love you sweet boy!
