Christmas 2013

The calm before the storm

That's what you get for swipin' a candy cane, Trigg! It was a Red Hots candy cane. LOL

Oh yeah! 38 balls to throw around the house!

Once Liam saw this Goofy, that's all he wanted.

Opening presents

Jimmy asked for hot cocoa :)

Jimmy sporting the hat that Caleb bought for him.

Still holdin' Goofy

This Frosty is one of the presents that Caleb wanted the most!

Gotta love Peppa Pig, right?

Elijah got Dora's backpack. He was real excited! Dora and Peppa Pig rock at our house.

Elijah has been telling me that he wanted this bubble leaf blower for months.

Ben's favorite turtles

Jimmy stylin' with his Duck Dynasty pj's

Dr. Caleb is in the house

Lucky Mama is his first patient. :)

So thankful this year to have all 5 of my boys home together for Christmas.
We had a wonderful day. I hope all of you did too!

Almost Christmas

Decorating cookies

Elijah decided he wanted to write his name with a sharpie on his glasses case. :)

Some of the goodies that I made this year

On Christmas Eve, every year after church, we come home and have a treat to eat before getting ready for the BIG night.

I just love Elijah in his glasses. I honestly did not think he could get any cuter, but he did. :)

Glasses

Both Liam and Elijah wear glasses. They are both far sighted, but Liam's eyes are worse than Elijah's eyes. Liam likes to take his glasses off a lot and will throw them or set them someplace. Elijah will take his off sometimes and will put them in his case. Liam just got a new strap and he can't get his glasses off, so now if he doesn't want to wear them, they are usually dangling around his neck. Elijah does not wear a strap because he doesn't throw his glasses or lose them. Liam has lost one pair so far.
Liam will pull his glasses down and look at me with his nose pieces up his nose! HA!

I'm so proud of Elijah. He is doing so well wearing his glasses.

Now that they both wear glasses, they look even more like twins.

Elijah and his coffee cans. He loves them! Not sure why, but he does enjoy playing with them.

Believing in Santa

My boys get so excited to see Santa every year around this time. We get to see him at our annual Down syndrome Christmas party. I like it because there are no lines and you can sit and wait for your turn. While waiting you get to see so many children with Ds visit with Santa too. One day about 5 years ago, I thought, maybe I should explain to Jimmy that Santa wasn't real. So I did. And Jimmy said to me, "YES, HE IS!" End of discussion. He still believes. :)

An unexpected..... but wonderful surprise!

My brother Sean flew up to visit the boys and me last week. We had no idea he was coming, but we were so excited to see him. He lives in Florida and the last time that we saw each other was in 2009. It was only a few months after I had brought Elijah home when we traveled down to visit. I never imagined it would be four long years before we saw each other again. He is very busy with his job and I was too, plus all of my money had been going into Liam's adoption. So it wasn't possible for either of us to make the trip. But I am determined not to let another four years go by again until we see him again. Here are some pics from this past week.
