This day is a significant cause for celebration. We celebrate Elijah turning 4 because he has graced this world with his wonderful little self for exactly 4 years.:) Elijah is so loved and cherished by our family and we are so happy and thankful that he is home with us especially on this special day.
Why is this 4th birthday such a cause for celebration? Because if Elijah was still living in the orphanage, this birthday would be a not so happy day. Once, he turned four, his days would be numbered. Very soon, he would be transferred from the baby home to an institution. This would mark the beginning of the end for him. 80% of disabled children will die within their first year of being transferred to an institution. How sad, how tragic, how wrong!
I praise God that Elijah is home with us. And that his orphanage caregivers will never have to say a teary good bye to him as he is being driven away to the institution, and that Elijah will never experience the fear that day would bring. Thank you Jesus!
Instead, Elijah is home with us, his family, and we think he is the most special little four year old in the world! Happy Birthday Peanut! We love you!!

ReplyDeleteOh Amy, please send me the pic of him blowing out his candle. The orphanage will love it. I am so blessed by your little guy. It's so good to see how changed a life can be by the love of a family. Watching him grow as I have, I am encouraged at what life might be like for my family with my girl. So blessed and so happy. Happy birthday Elijah. Many many more to come God willing.
